Private Walking Tour Combo: Secrets of the Pan Am Building & Grand Central Terminal
Pan Am Building
Join us for a walking tour to explore the building that set the tone for late 20th-century Park Avenue and still fascinates New Yorkers today. Guests will be treated to interesting views of the Pan Am Building both inside and out, along with firsthand stories from Robyn Roth Moise, daughter of Richard Roth Jr., the architect responsible for the building's design. Robyn's stories are rich, funny, and not to be missed. Along the way, learn the fascinating origin story of Project X and its unexpected financial story, discover the secrets of the breathtaking art still in the building today, find out how Pan Am became involved, and learn how the short-lived heliport made it to the roof.
Grand Central Terminal
Discover why Grand Central's ceiling is painted backwards, with one of New York's most Googled mysteries, right below it. Hear how Jacqueline Kennedy took on the wrecking ball in the preservation battle that saved the terminal and changed the city forever. And uncover the stories nobody tells: the secret party held on Track 61, the rocket that once stood in the concourse, and the railroad executive who built a private apartment inside a working train station.
