Rebecca "Becky" Sprecher
Years with Pan Am: 1972-77, Flight Attendant JFK/HNL
I became interested in Pan Am history when I co-wrote a novel, Flying, with fellow Honolulu-based flight attendant Paula Helfrich. I was hooked right away, and I realized how much flying for Pan Am in my early 20s was a life-changing experience. I think all of our flight attendants will tell you that.
Since then, I have been co-writing feature articles for Jet Wings Magazine, the publication for World Wings International. Pan Am was everywhere in the 20th Century, so it’s no accident that Henry Luce of Time Magazine referred to the airline as "The Chosen Instrument". There is no end to the stories we can tell, and I look forward helping everyone tell them in the Pan Am World Press.

Cheryl Taylor
Years with Pan Am: 1971-1982, flight attendant JFK, SEA, BOS (purser), HNL, SFO
Post Pan Am: Magazine editor at several home and garden publications in New York and Des Moines; communications writer at The University of Texas at Brownsville (site of an important Pan Am base, 1927-59) and UT Rio Grande Valley. Along the way, I returned to school twice and am now teaching community college adult education classes; I also bravely substitute at local middle schools. I hope these youngsters someday learn about Pan Am and its key role in commercial aviation.
I am committed to helping the museum in its mission to preserve Pan Am’s legacy and ensure its unique place in world history.
