Kennedy International Airport in New York. His 27-year career included positions in Ramp Operations, Passenger Service, and the Clipper Club. In November 1991, Charlie began working with Delta Air Lines following their acquisition of Pan Am’s transatlantic routes. He spent the next 10 years with Delta as Station Manager in St. Petersburg, Russia and Gainesville, Florida. Charlie retired from Delta in 2001. Charlie also holds a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies from FSU. Her new book, The Crash Detectives, was published by Penguin in 2017.
Christine began her career in broadcasting as an anchorwoman for local television stations in the south and northeast. She moved on to join the network news of CBS as a correspondent in the Atlanta, New York, and Chicago bureaus. Her stories appeared on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and on the award winning Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt. From 1993 to 1999, she worked at CNN as a New York-based correspondent. Her coverage for CNN of the 1996 downing of TWA flight 800 led her to write her first book, Deadly Departure, which was a New York Times book of the year in 2000.
With her expertise in aviation safety, Ms. Negroni has participated on advisory committees for the Federal Aviation Administration and directed investigations on behalf of the 9/11 Victims’ families with the law firm Kreindler & Kreindler in New York. She is also an on-camera aviation consultant for ABC News.
Ms. Negroni actively covers the air travel industry for The New York Times, Air & Space, Forbes, and other news organizations, and she continues to advocate for aviation safety.
